Calculate percentages easily
Multiply the number by the percentage divided by 100. For example, 25% of 200 = 200 × (25/100) = 50. Or simply: 200 × 0.25 = 50.
Divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100. For example: 30 is what percent of 120? Answer: (30 ÷ 120) × 100 = 25%.
Percentage change = ((New - Old) ÷ Old) × 100. Price increased from ₹100 to ₹125? Change = ((125-100) ÷ 100) × 100 = 25% increase.
Multiply by (1 + percentage/100). To add 18% GST to ₹1000: ₹1000 × 1.18 = ₹1180. To subtract, use (1 - percentage/100).
Divide by (1 + percentage/100). If ₹1180 includes 18% GST, original = 1180 ÷ 1.18 = ₹1000. This finds the base before percentage was added.
