Calculate discounts and sale prices
Discounted Price = Original Price × (1 - Discount%). For 30% off on ₹1000: ₹1000 × (1 - 0.30) = ₹700. The discount amount is ₹300.
Original Price = Sale Price ÷ (1 - Discount%). If sale price is ₹700 after 30% off: ₹700 ÷ 0.70 = ₹1000 original price.
Sequential discounts don't simply add up. 20% + 10% off isn't 30%. Instead: after 20% off ₹100 = ₹80, then 10% off ₹80 = ₹72. Total discount is 28%, not 30%.
BOGO free = 50% off when buying 2 items. BOGO 50% off = 25% off total for 2 items. Compare total cost with regular prices to find true value.
Not always. 50% off a marked-up price might be worse than 20% off a fairly priced item. Compare final prices across sellers, not just discount percentages.
